About NELATEK
NELATEK is a Monthly Meetup of Technology professionals, students, and enthusiasts in Northeast LA where we gather to discuss all things technology related.
NELATEK meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at Tower Place (1500 N 19th St, Monroe, LA 71201)) in Monroe, LA starting at 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm with some type of food provided by our generous sponsor(s). Our meeting format is that we start with a set speaker around a specific topic for the first half of the meeting and then we morph into a more relaxed, open discussion for the 2nd half of the meeting. It is free and open to the public. All we ask is that you RSVP to the meeting that you plan to attend so that we can plan for an accurate dinner count.
Note: Many of our participants stay after the meeting to continue discussions, network, and/or catch up with friends, but we are normally finished by 7:45.
Our meetups are FREE and open to the public. You are welcomed to bring your laptop or tablet, and free wifi is available. We do ask that you RSVP to any Meetup that you plan to attend to ensure that enough food is ordered.
NELATEK November Meetup
Workplace trauma is a real thing—especially in the Information Technology field. Network outages, cyber attacks, the Crowdstrike event, natural disasters, etc... are all events that are beyond your control but that YOU are held responsible for as the head of the IT department (or as one of the company's IT guys). The business doesn't care whose fault it is or that you haven't slept in two days; they just want it fixed NOW.
If this scenario sounds familiar, you don't want to miss NELATEK's November Meetup, which will be held on Thursday, November 14th, at 6:00 p.m., at Tower Place (1500 N 19th St, Monroe, LA 71201).
This month's remote speaker is D.J. Eschelman, an IT Leader, Speaker, Author, and Podcaster. He will discuss "Trauma in IT" and how management and leadership can help to prevent it. He will also discuss coping mechanisms when one finds themselves in this type of situation.
Come ready to share your experiences and collaborate to create solutions as we bring awareness to this often-overlooked reality that almost all IT professionals have experienced at least once in their careers.
